Where to Go For A Date in Parañaque

Situated in Metro Manila’s southern area is the city of Parañaque. Taguig and Pasay border it on the north, while Las Piñas and Muntinlupa are its southern borders. Manila Bay also borders this 11th Metro Manila city on the west. Since its small beginnings as Rizal province municipality, it’s become one of the Philippines’ big commerce and industry centers—all thanks to its strategic location.

If you want to live in a city that’s near major provinces, Parañaque’s your best bet. Thanks to its expressways, one can have a quick getaway from the city’s hustle and bustle without confronting horrible traffic.

Like the rest of Metro Manila, this city has its share of awesome dating spots for couples. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, we’re sure that you two will know where to date in Parañaque and find something to do.

See some of the best this city has to offer.

I. For the art and culture buffs

Satisfy your love of all things art and culture through these stops.

Kulay-Diwa Gallery of Philippine Contemporary Art

If food feeds the body, art and culture nourish the soul. A world without those two is a dull one, right?

Fancy seeing artistic masterpieces? Kulay-Diwa has it all for you. This gallery is a privately-owned gallery that seeks to achieve three goals, namely:

  • Discovering and showcasing expressive works from young and emerging artists;
  • Make art more accessible to the masses, especially in the southern Manila community; and
  • Build connections with other regions in the country, Southeast Asia, and other parts of the world.

Aside from its exhibition area, this independent gallery also has a great garden for outdoor events. Sadly, the physical gallery’s doors are shut due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, you can still have that museum date with your boo by visiting their online exhibitions on their website.

190 Artists Gallery

Photo from the official 190 Artists Gallery Facebook page

What started as get-togethers between artist-friends became a business venture in an art gallery and cafe. 190 Artists Gallery was a place that owner Cynthia Jamlag used to call home.

Its quaint charm and quirky interiors greet curious visitors. Paintings from veteran and novice artists—some of whom are Jamlag’s friends—adorn its classic white walls, sprucing up the space. If the art isn’t enough to make you stick around, the food may convince you to stay for a while.

The great thing about 190 Artists Gallery is that it doesn’t stop at displaying art and serving food. They hold online art classes too! In short, maybe you and your partner can unleash your inner Picassos and bond over honing your art skills.

Palacio de Memoria

Think you can’t have a piece of history within a bustling city? This next place, situated in the ever-busy Roxas Boulevard, doesn’t seem to think so.

Palacio de Memoria is a restored pre-war mansion featuring old Manila’s untold stories and other exquisite masterpieces. If you and your boo are avid history fans, you two are going to love this seven-story place. Book an hour-and-a-half tour of the mansion and see it in all its dazzling glory!

Aside from the majestic interiors, Palacio de Memoria boasts a spacious outdoor deck and back garden for events. Feel the 60s and 70s come alive in its Mosphil Lounge—a repurposed aircraft decked out in stylish retro pieces.

Fun fact: the mansion was one of the very few structures that survived the Battle of Manila’s onslaught. In short, if you’re looking for a place that embodies history, this is the one for you.

II. For the nature lovers

Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area

Parañaque’s coastal roads have mangroves that make way for the lush reserve that is the Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area. This spot spans 175 hectares of flora and fauna that found a home in the metro. It has the distinction of being the country’s first critical habitat.

The wetland is famous among birdwatchers because birds tend to flock here during migration season. It also doubles as a defense against calamities. Should storms hit, you can count on LPPCHEA to take the heavy downpour.

In addition, it’s a perfect place to exercise your green thumbs. Do you and your partner love the environment? Go the extra mile and practice what you preach in this sanctuary!

Okada Manila

Okada Manila prides itself on being the country’s biggest integrated resort. This first hotel on this list is just a 10-minute drive (or 3 kilometers) from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

This 44-hectare complex has a casino, spa, indoor pool, lounge, club, indoor beach, gym, and shops to keep guests entertained and occupied during their stay. Want varied dining options? This place boasts over 20 restaurants that’ll satisfy diverse palettes. We haven’t even mentioned its 993 rooms that offer a gorgeous view of the iconic Manila Bay sunset or The Fountain—Okada’s multicolor dancing water spectacle.

Enjoy a much-needed R&R with your other half in Entertainment City’s most opulent complex.

City of Dreams Manila

What do you get when you bring three luxury hotel chains together in one complex? The answer: the City of Dreams Manila!

Like Okada Manila, this 6.2-hectare space is an integrated resort. The complex houses the world-famous Nüwa, Hyatt, and Nobu names. Can anyone else in Parañaque have that distinction? We don’t think so!

All three hotels each have unique defining traits that make them special. The two-tower Nüwa blends traditional and contemporary aesthetics for a sophisticated aura. On the other hand, Nobu exudes Japanese vibes that make for a more relaxing stay. And lastly, forget calling the 15-acre Hyatt Regency Manila an airport hotel—its classy setup and top-notch services alone are worth coming for!

III. For the foodies

Parañaque is home to some of the metro’s best bites. BF Homes alone boasts a wide variety of selections to choose from. Chow down on a few of the city’s beloved joints and best-kept secrets!

Mensakaba Geishu

The best kinds of ramen places are the unassuming ones. Mensakaba Geishu is a joint that simply lets its dishes speak for themselves.

Tucked away in a quiet section of Aguirre Street is a humble restaurant serving hearty bowls of ramen without the huge price tags. Its simple interiors give its no-nonsense atmosphere away pretty quickly, with the smell of broth boiling away behind the counter, livening up the environment. If you think the photo above is delicious, wait until you two try the rest of their menu.

Mensakaba Geishu is one of the affordable dating places in Parañaque. Get your ramen fix without hurting your pockets!

The great thing about food is that it takes us to different places without leaving where we’re currently at. In short, this place lets its diners enjoy the best of The Big Easy without leaving the Bay City.

RUE began as an after-work joint for yuppies in 2009. Its aesthetics and dishes are a nod to New Orleans and its iconic Mardi Gras festivities. Judging by the photo above, you can tell you’re in for a feast, right? Their menu comprises hearty dishes and varied beverages (including their signature caramel beer) that keep its loyal customers coming back for more.

Get your Southern cuisine fix (in the south, no less!) and have a little escape from the fast-paced life.

La Chinesca

Photo from the official La Chinesca Facebook page

People tend to stereotype taquerias as joints that offer no variety. La Chinesca shows people that there’s more to these hand-sized snacks than just the usual flavors.

This hole-in-the-wall taqueria was born out of founder and chef Bruce Ricketts’s love for Mexican food. Its interiors are just as unassuming as the head chef, save for the colorful posters that adorn its walls. Are you and your partner looking to satisfy your taco cravings? Thus, La Chinesca is the right place! They currently offer ten filling varieties that all deliver in the flavor department.
